المؤلف: هو محمد بن عثمان الحشايشي، ولد بتونس العاصمة سنة 1853 وتوفي بها سنة 1912. هو سليل عائلة ولوعة بالعلم والأدب. درس الفقه والعلم بجامع الزيتونة حيث أحرز شهادة التطويع ثم تقلد عدة وظائف. واكب الحياة السياسية والثقافية في زمنه، فحرر عددا من المقالات ذات الصلة، بالصحف والمجلات، ومن أبرز مؤلفاته: "تاريخ جامع الزيتونة" (1974) و"الرحلة الصحراوية عبر أراضي طرابلس وبلاد التوارڨ" (1988). المحقق: الجيلاني بن الحاج يحي من مواليد جزيرة جربة سنة 1929. زاول دروس الجامعة الزيتونية بتونس، ونال منها شهادة التحصيل سنة 1950. بعد سنوات التدريس، تقلد عدة مناصب عليا في وزارتي التربية والثقافة. كان مؤرخا ومحققا ومعجميا. من مؤلفاته "معركة الزلاج" (1961، بالاشتراك)، "القاموس الجديد للطلاب" (1979، بالاشتراك). توفي بتونس سنة 2010.

Né en 1853 et mort en 1912 à Tunis, Mohamed Ben Othman Hachaïchi est le descendant d'une famille férue de sciences et de lettres. Il étudia la jurisprudence islamique (fiqh) et la théologie à la Zitouna où il obtint le diplôme "taṭwīᶜ". Depuis lors, il occupa plusieurs fonctions et suivit de près la vie politique et culturelle de son époque; à ce propos, il rédigea plusieurs articles, publiés dans autant de journaux et de magazines. Parmi ses œuvres: "Tārīḫ Jāmic al-Zaytūnaẗ",1974 (Histoire de la Mosquée Zitouna), et "Al-Riḥlaẗ al-ṣaḥrāwiyaẗ ᶜabra arāḍī Ṭarābuls wa bilād al-Tawārig", 1988 (Voyage au Sahara tripolitain et au pays des Touaregs) L'éditeur: Né à Djerba en 1929 et mort à Tunis en 2010, Jilani Bel Haj Yahya fit ses études à la Zitouna où il obtint le diplôme du taḥṣīl en 1950. Historien, éditeur critique, lexicographe et écrivain prolifique, il publia notamment: "Maᶜrakaẗ al-Jallāzz, 1961, en collaboration (La Bataille du Jallaz), "Al-Qāmūs al-ğadīd lil- ṭollāb", 1979, en collaboration (Le Nouveau Dictionnaire pour étudiants).

He studied theology at the Great Mosque of Zitouna where he obtained the intermediate stage Certificate called Tatwi (later called Tahsil). He then held several positions and followed closely the political and cultural life of his time, about which he wrote several articles in newspapers and magazines. Of his publications, we may cite: The History of the Great Mosque of Zitouna (1974), Trip Across the Tripolitan Sahara and the Tuaregs’ Land (1988). Born in Djerba in 1929, Jilani Bel Hadj Yahya passed away in Tunis in 2010. He studied at the Great Mosque of Zitouna where he obtained in 1950 the intermediate stage Certificate, called Tahsil. After years of teaching, he held high positions in the ministries of culture and education. Historian, critical editor, lexicographer and writer, he published, among others, the collaborative works: The Djallaz Battle (1961) and The New Students’ Dictionary (1979).
